Software with roots

Open source tools
built with purpose

Calmécac is an independent software label. We build what we need — and publish it freely because that's how it should be.

Who are we?

An independent software label, built from the inside out

Calmécac was born from a simple frustration: the tools we needed didn't exist, were too expensive, or came with compromises we weren't willing to accept. So we built them. And because we believe software should be free, we publish it so anyone can use it, modify it, and improve it.

Open source

Everything we build is public, auditable, and free. No paid licenses, no vendor lock-in. The code is yours to read, modify, and distribute.

Built with purpose

We don't build tools just for the sake of it. Every project solves a real problem we have ourselves — if we wouldn't use it, we don't build it.

Own culture

Names in Nahuatl, a philosophy of permanence. We build to last, not for this week sprint. The software we create is meant to stand the test of time.

Calmécac needs funding

Everything we build is free and open source. If your company needs custom software, we can build it — and part of what you pay funds our open projects. We also accept donations if you simply want to support us.
